Harvard + Japan + Career Forum

Harvard Japan Career Forum (HCF) is a career forum hosted at Harvard, with the aim of connecting top level students from accross the world, with working opportunities in Japan. Directed by the Harvard College Japan Initiative, the forum will be held during the weekend of the annual Boston Career Forum, a highly active weekend when thousands of students and companies will be in the area.

Agenda

The events will take place over the course of the weekend before and after the annual Boston Career Forum, from the 17th to 19th of November.

Signature Theme

Booths Session ~Meet the Companies~

This is the ideal opportunity for students to discover and learn about companies that they may have never interacted with before. This session will be conducted on a no-appointment, casual basis in which the students will be free to walk around and visit the companies that they may be interested in.

Reception ~Greetings from the Hosts~

A warm welcome to all participants from the representatives from The Office of Career Service, The Reischauer Institute of Japan Studies, and The Harvard College Japan Initiative, the organizers of the event.

Networking Session ~Meet and Greet the Recruiters~

This is a session in which students may interact with companies in a more casual and informal environment. Soft drinks and refreshments will be served (Sushi).

Free Interaction ~Meet the Students from Across the World~

This is a session is predominantly for Harvard students to be able to interact with their Japanese counterparts, many of whom would have flown in from across the world. Recruiters may stay if they wish but are not obliged to.

Students' Interaction Event ~Coffee Chats~

An ideal opportunity to meet the fellow students and share your information/tips about your interviewing results. This interaction event will be hosted in one of Harvard's student run cafés and will be an open to all event.

After Party

Congratulations on completing your first two days at Boston Career Forum! Most of the interviews will be completed and whether you got your offer or not, let's just forget it for the night! Bring your friends along. (Must be 21+ to drink)

Space for the forum is limited; please apply at your earliest convenience to make sure that we can reserve your spot.

Harvard Students

FREE

Open to all undergraduate and graduate students studying at Harvard University.
Japanese proficiency is not required (but preferred).
Please also help us by hosting a student over the weekend. You can sign up to become a host here.

Open to undergraduate students planning to participate in Boston Career Forum, 2015.
Students must be bilingual in English and Japanese.

Accomodation

We will provide free accommodation for participants of the HCF by matching them up with Harvard students who will be willing to host in their dormitories.

Applications (deadline September 10th) for housing for non-Harvard students have closed. Please apply again next year.
